... is that they're amazingly... I had to look up the word, and internet says hospitable, welcoming. Not only Anna and Barry looked after us, in Melbourne Lucie and Maggie and their families have been taking care of us. Melbourne is big but really nice, and after all, it's not that massive. We've been here for three weeks now, and I think I've seen most of the tourist attractions. The library is our favourite place in town... So Lucie and Maggie are these two wonderful girls we met at Bluesfest in Byron Bay in april, and invited us to stay at their places. They took us to the country where their parents live, and even there we were showered with delicious food, magnificent views and interesting discussions. And all of this in nice warm mud brick houses! It was really nice to have a bit of a family feeling after all this traveling. Thanks to both families! And special thanks to Phil for the golden syrup dumplings : ).
Before all this we worked at a Buddhist center about an hour out of the city of Melbourne. We found out about this through Damon, a guy we met at Bluesfest as well. For about 6 hours cleaning and gardening a day, we got a massive amount of chocolate and delicious vegetarian food and more chocolate and free meditation courses all week and even more chocolate. It was interesting to find out more about Buddhism and try to force myself to clear my mind and meditate. It didn't work, but still, I tried. During the weekend there was a course "the way of wisdom" in which the head teacher of the center talked about how to find inner peace. He was really interesting, although I didn't agree on everything.
So that's about all that's going on. Not much, we're basically watching a lot of movies and sleeping in in the morning.
I'll be in Melbourne until saturday night. Then my path leads back to Sydney where I spend my last days in Australia...
